myPC

Post by ainm »

Every day, I need to log into my work, through mypc.

Example: https://mypc.department.gov.

This takes me to a Citrix viewer. I log in.

I am presented with a mypc icon, which I must click on.

Before NoScript, that click would take me into my workspace. Done.

Now, even though I have whitelisted this site, I have to right click on the mypc icon and allow a launch.ica file.

I then have to click on the mypc icon again.

I have to right click on the mypc icon again and allow a launch.ica file.

Then it launches the viewer that lets me see my workspace.

Is there a way to simplify this?

Thanks.

When you do that click now, are there any related messages in the Browser Console? (Cmd-Shift-J)

Sorry, I don't understand what "allow a launch.ica file" means here. Could you please explain this more or provide a screenshot?

Also, what version of NoScript are you using?

2.6.8.5

No, there is no yellow bar at the bottom with any message.

I right click the mypc icon and pick NS and then Blocked Objects, and then the .ica file.

Then I click on the mypc icon again, and voila.

What is the full URL of the launch.ica object that you are allowing?

Have you enabled Options - Embeddings - Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too?

That's not the Browser Console. The Browser Console is accessible by typing Cmd-Shift-J.

If you know the MIME type of the ica file, you can add it to noscript.allowedMimeRegExp in about:config. Note that this will allow the plugin you got for reading ica files to execute on every site. You're supposed to be able to do that on a per-site basis but I've never been able to get that to work. You could use Firefox's built-in Click-to-Play system to achieve a similar effect though.

Thanks a million for all the posts.

I appreciate everybody's help.

Thrawn, your post solved my problem. I cleared "Apply these Restrictiosn..", and it stopped forcing me to take extra steps on the site that I use for work.

Thanks again.
