How to increase screen real estate?

Post by alabrand »

First and foremost, I love NoScript. I recently changed to a brand new Firefox installation and instead of installing my goto applications Adblock Plus and Ghostery I decided to really give NoScript a try. And I freaking love it! It's amazing!

But here's my question: Can I increase the screen real estate in any way? NoScript sucessfully blocks the images I want but it's as if they're only hidden and not actually gone. Maybe it is just how the design of the website is and it might not be possible to achieve this but could you guys take a look at this screenshot and tell me if it is possible to remove the large white spaces?

Example #1: The top of the page. It's barren, empty and desolated and I'd like for the top menu to actually be on the top of the page instead of several inches down.

Example #2: The right toolbar(s) where it says Nytt i forumet. Below it there is a huge white space. Any way to remove that?

Most likely NoScript is just blocking the script that loads the images and inserts them where they would be. NS usually doesn't block images directly by default.

NoScript isn't the best tool for that. You need something that can do custom CSS, such as Adblock Plus or Stylish.
Either (or both) of these tools should work well alongside NoScript to achieve what you want.
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
