[Resolved] answers for dummies

Sorry People, but I've looked and read until my head hurts...maybe we need a topic for us dummies....
So, I had the old ver. 1.4 or so, and it stopped working on youtube. So today,
I dl and installed ver: 1.5.5.9rc1.
I dl and installed wxDownloadfast, (which shows up and is selected in FG Dl mgr.).
I ticked FG Media, show toolbar button.
I also cleared out icons on toolbar.
I also enabled add on bar in FX.

But I can only see a greyed out FG filmstrip icon ONLY when I am optioning icons to add and delete from toolbar. After I close the toolbar selection, FG icon vanishes and is unavailable.
It is not on bottom nor top.

Also I do not have FG selection/all/anything, using the lighting bolt icon next to the tabs.
Help is appreciated!

So, what did I do wrong? Thoughtless subject title? Not enough information?
All I want is a little help.

The FlashGot Media icon will only display when it finds media to be gotten.
IOW, it is not a permanent icon that displays.

Not sure I'm following you on that?
You mean the right-click context-menu does not display the various menu entries?

FlashGot Options | Menu, are the wanted items checkmarked?

Thanks Rube ..

1. The FG media icon never shows up. @ youtube nor (for ex.) adobe.

2. when i go to say adobe, and watch a flash tut, the FG "filmstrip" does not show up. also there is nothing to select the item i am watching for dl.

3. Also , on a PC, how can I get a screen shot to show you what i see?

1. might check for conflict, disable all other extensions.
might do a Customize Toolbar, Restore Default Set.

Ok Rube....Here's what I did..

Uninstalled wxDownloadFast..
Uninstalled FG add on..
uninstalled Firefox..

Then, did a new Firefox install..
New install of FG..
New install of Flashplayer..
New install of wxDownloadFast..

Got error msg on wxDownloadFast via FG..
Changed dloader back to Flashget..
(Checked FG log for no errors)..

Now everything works.... got my Fstrip when at youtube and any other site where flash is present, and can select size of item to dl!

I'd guess that us dummies need to clear everything out and start fresh anew when having issues, as I did above.

That may just solve our issues.

Now, where's that donate button! Thanks again...
