[WONTFIX] Unable to download PBS video even when streaming

I play it but do not find an icon flashing, the only icon relating to flashgot is a yellow/orange lightning bolt I had to add myself. It does not blink.

They are using RTMP & FlashGot is not able to see that.

As therube said - they are using RTMP.

I might be wrong but I think it's impossible to grab RTMP from inside Firefox.

Good news (more or less)...

They have a Youtube channel: PBS NewsHour. And FlashGot works since the videos are "normal" - there's no RTMP.

In theory the channel should be the same as the PBS site. In reality it isn't. Possible problems include (and may not be limited to):

- Missing segments.
- Missing full show video.
- Unknown uploading time(s).

On a good day - all videos are uploaded just after (or even before) the show airs.

On a bad day - one (or even none) of the videos are uploaded until sometime the next day.

I have no idea what's up. It's PBS so in my mind's eye I can imagine interns do the uploading. Some days you get steadfast Josh who does the job promptly and correctly. Other days you get Todd. And that guy is lazy and sloppy as can be. But I guess it's to be expected. "Todd" is a surfer name.

In other words - donate to PBS! Says the man who has never actually donated...

I didn't phrase things right. I should have said "...I think a dependable way to grab RTMP inside Firefox probably doesn't exist." Things do exist. And I made an assumption that everything out there is iffy. I might be wrong about that too.

I had a look at the page for UnPlug. It seems iffy.
