significantly slower blocking flash content

Post by pacman401 »

NoScript flash blocking capabilities causes high cpu usage, more time to load page,

instaed I have to turn it off and install flashblock extension to run FF more smoothly

Flash blocking should reduce CPU usage. And FlashBlock is not reliable for security purposes, because sites can get around it.

Does this still occur in a new profile?

yep on new clan profile likely working faster ma by fault of additional extension like flash got/flash downloader/ad block

but still:
*blocking process takes more cpu than the old noscript (maby YouTube fault)
*blocking process is slower/more cpu than flashblock
*causes on YT to load/refresh multiple times (on flashblock not)

Well, NoScript does have to do extra work in order to block Flash. But does the blocking process use more CPU than the Flash video does?

That's because FlashBlock isn't really blocking things. It's basically just pressing 'Pause' as soon as they load.
