select Google Apps not working at work, ok at home !?!

Post by bw0r »

Folks,

Last Wednesday, June 19, 2013, I found myself unable to bring up the Google Calendar in my Firefox browser as I do daily, though it worked fine the previous day. With experimentation, I found that Google Contacts also fails, but Google Mail, Drive, Sites, Groups, and Maps all seem to work. (That was more than enough sampling for me.) This started with my work account on Google, so I experimented with 2 personal accounts and got the same result. However, this is only a problem at work, either of 2 networks, but not at home.

Today I thought on a whim to try turning off add-ons in Firefox. Sure enough, turning off NoScript and restarting Firefox allows the calendar to open normally at work. Enabling NoScript and restarting Firefox allows the calendar to continue working, but signing out and back in gets into the same problem. (The Google Calendar works fine in Internet Explorer at the same time so it's not a network issue, really.)

When the Google Calendar (or Contacts) does not work, I get the error from Firefox:
The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
- This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
[Try Again]
I had not made any changes myself, but I do allow NoScript and other add-ons to update automatically. I have to put a little more effort in to update Firefox from an Administrator account, but had not done that across those two days.

My browser environment is: NoScript 2.6.6.6 (or 2.6.6.6.rc1 for the moment - additional test) on Firefox 22.0 running on Windows 7 Enterprise - Version 6.7 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)

My work network environment is PSC.EDU offices where we do have firewalls in play. My alternate work network environment is CMU.EDU where the university does employ some screening mechanisms at the network border. (Again, Google Calendar works fine in IE or in Firefox with NS disabled.)

At home, I simply have a WiFi access point/router connected to a DSL connection through the local landline telephone company. (Google Calendar works fine in Firefox with NS enabled here.)

Does anyone have any idea what may have changed early last week? Is there a way I can fix this nuisance while keeping NS enabled?

Thank you!

I should add that I have all the Google domains of which I'm aware (and some I wasn't) whitelisted in NS.

Anything related in Error Console?
How do you get to Google Calendar? (Is it something you need to install?)

By Google Calendar, I assume he just means http://calendar.google.com/.
