noscript removes many unwanted ads from sites, besides the ones on phoronix.com.

NoScript is primarily a security tool, not an ad blocker. Are those ads served via JavaScript, Flash, etc? If so, then it's a matter of blocking the domains that host the ads. Otherwise, you may be out of luck, unless you want to write ABE rules.

If Adblock Plus can block these ads, it may be a better choice.
