Noscript and Firetube (youtube api)

Post by Krytical »

Hello,

I've been using noscript for some time now, its wonderfully helpful with everyday browsing and i thank you for making this. However a new addon i found that plays music off of youtube, uses the youtube api which seems to be blocked by noscript. (There is a known error about it on the addon) I was wondering if there is a way to unblock this on noscript? Never run into a issue like this before, figured i'd come to forums to try and find a solution, but searching for one came to no luck.

Thank you in advance for any posts that try to help :o

(Link to the addon, remove if this is breaking a rule sorry)

Do any sites appear on the NoScript menu when this is blocked?

Any errors or messages in the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J)?

Relevant links are fine. However, please use [ url ] tags, otherwise your links will be truncated, and if you go back and edit the post, then the truncated links will be broken.

Sorry for the long wait, there is nothing being blocked by noscript (under the icon) however a error does occur when
first looking up a song:

Code: Select all

Timestamp: 5/1/2013 10:28:26 AM
Error: firetube: An exception occurred.

then choosing a song to play:

Code: Select all

Error: firetube: An exception occurred.

Developer of FireTube here. If you would like to keep using noScript, you can add the site "http://www.stephenpalmerin.com/firetube/" to the exceptions list.

Hope this helps,
Steve

Hi, Steve. Thanks for letting us know :).

Is it possible to modify Firetube so that it runs scripts in chrome:// context, thus bypassing NoScript?

In the Noscript addon add http://www.stephenpalmerin.com and youtube-mp3.org to the whitelist section and Firetube should work for you.

Guest, when the problem occurs, do you see anything related to NS in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
(if you don't know what's related, turn off CSS warnings and post everything else you see)
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
