Flashgot not working Windows 8

Been using Flashgot for a long time and love it. Just started using Windows 8 on a new laptop, and it doesn't seem to be working. I use Firefox and imported all of my settings/etc from my Windows 7 computer. It worked fine on Win7. I located the Flashgot logs, but I'm not sure which part I should put here, if any.

Any help is appreciated!

In what way is it not working?
Does it show in Addons Manager? Is it enabled?
Is there a context menu?

Sorry, should have elaborated. Shows that the addon is fine. Can see the icon on my toolbar. It flashes, I click it, select the items, and hit ok, and then..nothing. Where before it would have downloaded the item, now nothing happens.

I've been trying to save to my desktop. When I save to a different partition (D, not the desktop C) it works. How can I change so Flashgot can write to my desktop?

Unless you are using a download manager, your browser will determine where & how files are saved.

FF | Options | General -> Downloads => Save files to ===> then perhaps, Always?

When I use FF to download without Flashgot, it's fine to save to the C drive. Only when I use Flashgot does it have any issue.

What Download Manager are you using, or are you using Browser Built-in?

(I'm not sure I quite understand the latter?)
