I'm noticing that on my work PC, Shiretoko nightly (any version after 20090516) crashes whenever a java applet runs. If I disable NoScript (and IE Tab) it won't crash. I'm not the administrator on the PC (windows XP SP2 with java 1.6.0_02) so I can't debug or upgrade or anything.
I've seen a few crash reports from other people, so I know I'm not the only one. As such I filed a Firefox bug for it, but I'm wondering if anyone else can reproduce this at will.
Can anyone confirm a crash with Shiretoko nightly?

Re: Can anyone confirm a crash with Shiretoko nightly?
I am running the latest nightly with NoScript and Java with no issues. I suspect the problem is with IETab as it has been causing instability for a LONG time because of the change in the IE engine since 7.x and keeping IETab disabled should prevent you from crashing, try using IE View in the meantime until the developer comes around to fixing this.

It turns out it's an incompatibility between the latest Shiretoko nightlies and Java versions older than 1.6.0_07. I'm still not sure why it's triggered by Noscript, nor why it doesn't affect Minefield.

Really? Would be interesting to know if its actually NS triggering it, I doubt it but we'll see what Giorgio says, you never know. Thanks for reporting back though.
