Flashgot selecting destination folder

Post by DataCrypt »

With the recent update to FlashGot, I'm having a weird issue that I can't seem to resolve. Whenever I select FlashGot Selection or FlashGot Link to open the destination folder window (to select where I want to save the file) - it opens as it did before with the last used location in the text box. The text in this text box is highlighted, but I cannot click in the textbox - the (I) cursor never shows up and the text never gets unselected. In other words I cannot click in the middle of the displayed path and highlight the text I want to replace (for example C:\last download location\folder -> i want to highlight "folder" with my mouse and type over it. This can't be done anymore. I have to hit the END key on my keyboard to un-select the text and then select it, etc..

Weird but and was wondering if you could reproduce/verify it for a possible fix in a future release. Thank you.

Best Regards,

Not able to duplicate.

Does it happen if you disable all other extensions?
Does it happen if you disable plugins?

Does it happen in a new, clean Profile, with only FlashGot installed?

Yes

Yes

No matter what I've tried, the last used destination folder is highlighted in the "Save destination folder" window and I cannot click on the selected text to un-select it no click and drag to select just the text I want to overwrite when typing. I have to always use the end key and backspace to erase the sub folder I last used (keeping the preceding root information). This started happening about 2 version of FlashGot back and FF 17. I'm surprised no one else is having this issue and that you can't reproduce it. I've already uninstall and re-installed FlashGot too, nothing has worked. Was using JDownloader as my main download accelerator and switch to JDownloader2 hoping that would fix it, but still the same!

Any other suggestions of what to try?

As a test, create a new, clean Profile.
Install only FlashGot.

Does the problem persist there?

I have the same problem.

I can no longer select a part of the download path and type in a new folder name.

The idea of remembering previous paths is useful, but the way it's currently implemented makes me wish the change never happened.

If this is too hard to get it working right, could you maybe add an option to turn off this path history feature?

Thanks.

I suppose limiting the "select all" behavior to the focus event only, rather than to any click, would do, correct?
