I wished I would better understand update history

Post by Mc »

Sorry, but I think I should understand the update history, so that I can use new versions of NoScript properly. But some explanations seem to come from hidden discussions and give no background informations.

Would it be possible to explain in such a case the intention and use of changes in a forum thread?

Are there any specific changes that you would like explained? I'm sure everyone would be happy to help. Of course, you can also do a keyword search of the forums, looking for references to the specific changes.

Other than that, noscript.net/changelog is often self-explanatory...but feel free to ask if you need to know more.

[quote=Other than that, noscript.net/changelog is often self-explanatory...[/quote]...and often not :-P

I try to help myself, as you proposed and I ask, if something is important for me, but a general solution would be preferable in my opinion.

All I can say is, ask.
Nothing hidden, here at least.
Though there must be other means of input; email, security related threads on Bugzilla, or where ever, because often there are references to users or topics not discussed here.

Any number of times, I don't understand a change. Perhaps after reading the posts here, I figure it out. Other times still not.

So, ask.

I wonder if all understand the changelog, when nobody asks. And most time nobody asks...
So I guess it would be just helpful, if we had an explanation where a change or fix log is not that self-explanatory.
Nothing more, what I would appreciate.

I would think that most don't even bother looking at it.
I don't always know, or understand, or understand the implications of a change, though sometimes I still don't ask.

> where a change or fix log is not that self-explanatory

But to whom?
To Giorgio, it is all self-explanatory.
To others, al I would think, most likely 99% is self-explanatory.
For me, I make the most of it I can.
When I can't & when I feel it may impact me, then I ask.
