When I opened a certain page, the NoScript-notify that informed about blocked facebook-content caused that the browser GUI stretched so that it became impossible to even close the notify. The page that triggered the notify had auto-center for the content-element, so it became unbrowseable for half of the page. Some elements from the browser UI disappeared due to right-alignment. The stretch does not limit to the tab opened, the stretch happens in the window-level. The minimize/resize/close buttons also work as one of the indicators that the actual window does not stretch. There's no horistontal scrollbar of any kind either (which would be odd if there was). A very long (blocked) URL that does not get split into separate lines triggers this bug.

Re: Bug: NoScript notify stretches browser UI
This is a known issue for ABE notifications. I didn't realise it affected other notifications, too; thanks for spotting it.
Up to Giorgio.

This is in fact an ABE notification. "pyyntö" translates to "request", per an online dictionary.Thrawn wrote:This is a known issue for ABE notifications. I didn't realise it affected other notifications, too; thanks for spotting it.
@ F-3000: Until this is fixed, you can disable the notifications in NoScript Options > Notifications. Uncheck "ABE".
When the page is blocked, you can read the error message in Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J, or Firefox Tools > Web Developer > Error Console), under blue "Info" messages, most likely prefixed with [ABE}.

Very correct.Tom T. wrote:"pyyntö" translates to "request", per an online dictionary.
Thanks for the tip. Pity it can't be self-disappearing with set time-limit, like blocked scripts notification.Tom T. wrote:@ F-3000: Until this is fixed, you can disable the notifications in NoScript Options > Notifications. Uncheck "ABE".

Re: Bug: NoScript notify stretches browser UI
That's actually a very good idea, and unless I'm mistaken, would require much less modification of the code than the existing TODO of configuring the ABE notifications always to stay inside the screen and not cover other elements. I'll post that as an RFE, with credit to you for suggesting, and will ask Giorgio to consider it.F-3000 wrote:... ETA: RFE is here.

Please see Giorgio's reply here.
Yes, NS is very configurable for the user who wishes to take the time to explore its many features and customization possibilities.

Re: Bug: NoScript notify stretches browser UI
BTW, while fiddling with the new doorhangers I almost accidentally found a work-around for the old-style notifications, so this long-standing problem is fixed in latest development build 2.6rc3, thanks for the reminder.
