Flashgot slowing down browser right click menu

Post by Bravedan »

OK,

Latest Firefox
Latest FlashGot
Latest GetRight
XP Pro

Problem I have is that when I right click on anything in the browser, for example to bring up the menu to use select all, copy or paste, there is often now a pause before the menu actually appears, followed by another pronounced pause before the Flashgot icons for Flashgot All, Build Gallery and FlashGot Options appear alongside their menu text options. Once this has been done, it work OK and also seems to be OK for a while if the right click menu is used again. It seems to struggle to initially find the icons, slowing the whole menu building process.

I don't use these options from that menu, so would like to stop the FlashGot menu appearing in the right click menu. I DO want to use FlashGot!!

I have looked but not come across how to do this, help please! :?: :?:

What may be happening is that first time you use the menu FlashGot searches for installed downloads.
Try to uncheck FlashGot Options|Advanced|Automatic Download Manager Detection and see whether it helps.

A couple of earlier (so may not be relevant today?) "slow" right-clicks:

Rightclick menus take 3-5 seconds to load

Right-Click Context Menu Slow & Heavy

I will note, that the very first time that you attempt a right-click, flashgot.exe is fired, whether you were going to flashgot something or not. (Suppose that is what Giorgio mention would be averted if you unchecked the 'Automatic download manager detection'.)
