So, what entries do you have in the Recently Blocked Sites and Blocked Objects submenus?
Anything NoScript-related in Tools - Web Developer - Error Console? Ignore the warnings, just look for Info or Error messages that refer to NoScript.

So Ghostry seemed to be the main culprit. I had to permit adf.ly in it (the giant button that looks like pause had to be turned to the image that looks like play).
Meanwhile, I'm going to switch to easy list. Thanks.

The warnings say: Warning: Unknown property 'zoom'. Declaration dropped.Thrawn wrote:So, what entries do you have in the Recently Blocked Sites and Blocked Objects submenus?

The error says: Error: The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must to be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.
Does that explain something?

@Thrawn; thank you, I was going to say the same.Criskat wrote:No, I don't, at least as far as I know I don't have any of those, I've never installed them. Is there anywhere I can check besides control panel to make sure I don't have them?Thrawn wrote: Do you have Adblock Plus and/or ghostery? If so, have you followed the instructions already given in this thread?
@Criskat; there are other addons that cause the same problem as well, some of which are TACO, DNT+, and ABINE (which has acquired and now operates both TACO and DNT+) they do similar things as Ghostery, so they could be an issue. But if you don't mind sharing your addon list, then send us a copy and let's see what we can figure out for you.
Just focus on the errors in JS or chrome, the CSS/XML/Content are usually just crappy artifacts that happen so much they are not worth it or relevant most of the time. Console² is excellent at this and allows you to filter and segregate and sort and better comb through your error console, I highly recommend it.Criskat wrote:The warnings say: Warning: Unknown property 'zoom'. Re: unable to get several sites to work
Told ya (I didn't mean that as a gloat, just a AHA), so I am glad you got it working and now you know how to handle any future similar bizarre behaviors. I have given you the roadmap to debugging on your own. But if you ever do hit a block you can't resolve, let us know but we do try to focus on NS issues and any other debugs are just coincidental. But there is a section on the forum that allows you to post unrelated subjects and if someone can take it, they will.keybounce wrote:So Ghostry seemed to be the main culprit. What is JS or Chrome? Re: unable to get several sites to work
Well, in that case something else is happening. Those won't do it. [/thinking]Criskat wrote:Thanks! I did share my addon list. It's really just those, Splashtop Connect 2.0.5.2. disabled and Java Console 6.0.3.5. also disabled and a download manager and that's all. I avoid installing anything unless necessary even this Splashtop Connect I don't know what that is, don't remember installing this.
JS = JavaScript generated errors (bad code, tripping something or breaking and throwing a OH CRAPWhat is JS or Chrome? Sorry if it's a silly question.
Chrome = The browser's internal engine/infrastructure within which all addons do their thing and have to interact with. If something goes wrong during that interaction, it will throw, once again, a OH CRAP and that's what are often the most important because they are functional errors, while the rest are just cosmetic issues and using of deprecated code or missing tag or this and that issues that the browser just discards and displays fine and just logs it in case you are running the site and care or want to know.
Hope that helps. There are no silly questions (ok maybe there are, but yours wasn't one of them).

Here's a candidate: @Criskat You did whitelist adf.ly and linkbucks, right?GµårÐïåñ wrote:There are no silly questions (ok maybe there are, but yours wasn't one of them).
What appears on your menu, and the submenus (Blocked Objects, Recently Blocked Sites, Untrusted)?

I'm not sure what it means to whitelist something but I did check the permissions on Page Info and everything is marked allowed except Install Extensions or Themes, Share Location and Maintain Offline Storage. Does that help?Thrawn wrote:Here's a candidate: @Criskat You did whitelist adf.ly and linkbucks, right?

The thing is I don't have NoScript, sorry if this was a place for NoScripts users only. When I started posting I didn't even know what this was, I just read the subject and thought someone might know a solution.therube wrote:> I'm not sure what it means to whitelist something

Re: unable to get several sites to work
Sometimes I'm being directed to the main adfly page instead of the right page. I've tried running CCleaner, didn't work.
What if I install adblock and allow adfly? Would that be crazy?

Ah. Well, the people here are specifically NoScript experts. If someone can help, they probably will, but this may not be the most effective place to look for generic tech-support help.Criskat wrote: The thing is I don't have NoScript, sorry if this was a place for NoScripts users only. It's not crazy, but if you don't have Adblock, then adfly should already be allowed...Criskat wrote:Sometimes I'm being directed to the main adfly page instead of the right page. I've tried running CCleaner, didn't work.

I cannot find Blocked items sub-menu, maybe because the no-script is in german?
I am having probelms with the ghostery add-on. I admit I do not even understand, that maybe nocript maybe doing the same as ghostery does any way, and I can simply forget it?
otherwise, please tell me how to get ghostery running again Thank you
