OK - I'm using NoScript on my laptop and on my home desktop but not on my work computer. Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
If it is actually a Sync issue and not a problem with your preferences file (are other preferences persisted across browser restarts?), you can do the following:robertwinz wrote: OK - I'm using NoScript on my laptop and on my home desktop but not on my work computer. What do I have to do to stop my whitelists from being continuously erased?
- Disable Sync and restart the browser
- Double check that about:config noscript.sync.enabled is actually false
- Type services.sync.prefs.noscript. in the about:config filter box and reset any preference you can finbd this way (right click, Reset)
- Enable back Sync and restart the browser

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
Dunno if this helps but rather than typing all that stuff out in about:config I use:
noscript*sync
That pulls up (in FF 8.1)
noscript.asyncNetworking
noscript.sync.enabled
services.sync.prefs.sync.noscript.asyncNetworking
They are currently all set to true, but am having similar issues to previous poster.

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
Unless you ever set noscript.sync.enabled to true, no "service.sync.prefs.noscript." preference is supposed to be displayed.genkiz wrote:hi

If you've got "erased whitelist" issues, you should keep it false, BTW.

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
I turned on globally forbidding scripts fairly recently and realized this setting didn't transfer over to my other rigs. In fact, none of my settings or information did.
I have my preferences synced though. I know this because if I disable saving tabs when closing Firefox on one right, those will be ported to another. It's very strange that the settings for NoScript aren't being pushed around as well.

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
Has there been any progress on making Noscript Sync work out of the box?

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
Just to confirm: you said to look for the prefix "services.sync.prefs.noscript", which I have none of, but the prefix "services.sync.prefs.sync.noscript" does have a long list of prefs (set to defaults) for me (I did have have noscript.sync.enabled true for some reason). Was that a mistake in your instructions?Giorgio Maone wrote:Unless you ever set noscript.sync.enabled to true, no "service.sync.prefs.noscript." preference is supposed to be displayed.genkiz wrote:hi

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
I, too, would like to know this. I really would like to sync my NoScript prefs and whitelists (having to allow/forbid the same sites repeatedly across multiple computers is a royal pain!), but not if there's a chance of my whitelists being blown away at random...sabret00the wrote:Has there been any progress on making Noscript Sync work out of the box?

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
I too would like to see this implemented correctly.
It's incredibly annoying that every time I add a computer to sync, the new computer's default whitelist overrides and overwrites all other whitelists across all of my computers.

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
Just came to ask about this again. I also wouldn't mind seeing this as a separate extension as per Stylish Sync.

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
Why does it overwrite the data and not merge it? Can it really be that difficult?

Re: NoScript and Firefox Sync
Maybe some of the problems wouldn't occur, if there would be a dedicated option (in the firefox sync menu) for syncing of the noScript settings. Is this already possible?
I noticed that ABP has a dedicated entry in the quota menu, but it is also not listed in the main sync menu, where you can choose which parts of ff should be synced. There should be a way provided by mozilla.

I just got bitten by this again on installing a new setup. :/
What's the current status? And progress on making it work?
