BrowserId

Post by andersh »

I think there is a problem in NoScript (2.5.4r3), that prevents BrowserId (aka Mozilla Persona) from working. If I go to the BrowserId test-site and click the "Sign in" button, nothing happens (apart from dimming the button), even though I have allowed scripts from myfavoritebeer.org, browserid.org and persona.org and the NoScript toolbar button is white (indicating that nothing on the page is being blocked). But if I disable the NoScript add-on (and restart the browser), the same action pops up a login window. Is anybody else seeing this?

I just saw the NoScript blocking javascript popup on whitelisted website post, which sounded related, and tried clearing the noscript.surrogate.popunder.sources preference. But it didn't seem to have any effect.

I noticed another problem: If I open firefox and navigate to the test site (and allow the scripts, but do not click the "Sign in" button), and close the browser, the browser exits and the firefox.exe process disappears from the processes list in Windows Task Manager. But it I click the "Sign in" button (which loads a file in the background and grays the button), but does not display the popup, and close the browser the firefox.exe process does not disappear.

Can anybody confirm this problem or is it just happening for me? Or could anybody offer any hints on what I can do to diagnose the problem?

Please check latest development build 2.5.5rc1, which has a work around for this Firefox 17+ bug.

Thanks a lot for your response. A simple "Check for updates" installed the new version and it seems to have solved the problem. Thank you.
BTW, do you have a bug number handy on the bug that caused this?
