[RESOLVED] Broken: Speed Test Website

Post by GµårÐïåñ »

Ok, now its getting annoying and pissing me off a bit but speedtest.net is not functioning either with NS enabled, even whitelisted. NS is effectively crippling anything that is Flash based and that's ALOT.

I have reinstalled Flash
I have reset NoScript
I have tried with a clean profile

NOTHING works, so I need to get some feedback from others as to their experiences, similar to this post: http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1301 and whether or not we have a solution to what is wrong. Only solution is to ride naked without NS and that's not an option for me but it not working it not an option for me either, so I am up S* creek and like to find a paddle.

These sites were functioning until the dev build 1.9.2.7 so something got screwy and might want to look into it Giorgio. Rolling back to 1.9.2.6 worked on a couple of the sites but not all of them, so something seems to be messed up. Given I have gone as far as resetting my entire profile to make sure its not a corruption or extension conflict, this seems to be entirely an NS thing.

Guard, still running stable 1.9.2.6 here. Went to speedtest, TA speedtest.net, un-adblocked, got a blocked-object logo for the .swf object, (I keep NS in 100% lockdown), clicked to TA the swf, "OK", and it did its thing. (Pinging, I can do myself - d'oh, but the d/l and u/l tests were interesting.)

I'll try dev build .7 and see if it changes. Give me a few minutes.

Works with .7 also. Tried it with two of my neighbors' networks who are on different ISPs. Can't reproduce your issue.
Gotta be something else going on at your end.

Edit: Maybe another extension interfering with .7? Like, maybe, -- n/m!

Yeah it works now since I made the modification on the JIB post, it works now. I think that .cp.last was the problem, darn it. Anyway will keep you posted if that turns out to be a false fix. Thanks guys, seriously, thanks.

I have tried with a clean profile
If that is so, why would noscript.cp.last have any affect - regardless of what it was set to?

therube, good question, I have no idea what to tell you on that one. Honestly I am at a loss as to truly what happened but in the absence of hard proof, all I can do is take the blame of user error. If I can pin down something hard and concrete, you know I will share. Thanks all for your help though.
