[RESOLVED] Flashgot just stopped working

For some, probably simple, reason Flashgot is not working for me anymore.

Firefox: 14.0.1
Flashgot: 1.4.7
Free Download Manager: 3.7 RC1 b956 (not happy with the newer versions so this has not been updated).

When I click on a download link, the Firefox downloader auto starts and downloads the link. FlashGot no longer intercepts the download and asks me what to do.

I uninstalled and reinstalled FlashGot - no change.

I have another computer with the same setup and it's working fine - I've compared the FlashGot settings and they are the same:
General: Download Manager = Free DownLoad Manager
DownLoads: Autostart downloads and Intercept all downloads are both checked

Not to be dismissive or feel like I am giving you the brush off, but have you tried the most recent build using the website and grabbing the "dev" build and try that? It might be something that has already been addressed. Also, got any links you can provide so we can test it with?

Not a problem. I installed the dev build 1.4.7rc1, but that didn't make a difference. I also installed the dev build on my other machine.

I compared the about:config settings (filter: flashgot) and they are the mostly the same, there are a few items that show in one or the other but not both. Is there a way to reset all flashgot settings to the default settings?

As for the website I'm having problems with - http://www.addic7ed.com, I'm trying to download subtitle files which are text files with a extension of .srt

So I cleared Flashgot's log

I then tried downloading some other files (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds) and downloaded both the exe and the zip file which did get intercepted by FlashGot and passed on to FDM.

I then went to download a subtitle which did NOT get intercepted by Flashgot, instead was downloaded by Firefox.

Here's my log file after that.

Please try to reinstall FDM.
Does it work if invoked from IE? (FlashGot needs FDM's IE support to be installed and enabled).

I uninstalled FDM using RevoUninstaller (which removes left over registry entries and files). I then installed the latest version of FDM which started up without any of my previous settings. I set the basic settings.

I tried to download a subtitle file in Firefox, but the same thing happened, i.e., it did NOT get intercepted by Flashgot, it was downloaded directly by Firefox.

I then tried it in IE and it was downloaded by FDM, as it should have.

Then, I did say it was simple, I decided to check out Firefox -> Options -> Applications and there it was - 'SRT' files were set to be saved. Si I changed the setting to Always Ask and everything is working fine now.

It's so obvious in hindsight.
