Forbid chrome:

Just noticed this message in the forbid and allow box.
It's has a gray text and if I press it, nothing happens.
First time I've seen it today.

Any ideas?

Yes, you probably have some extension injecting a chrome:// script inside the page.
Since chrome:// URLs cannot be denied (they're a part of the browser itself) the Forbid chrome: command is grayed out.

So this is not any kind of virus or trojan then?
It just appeared yesterday, just wondered if it was something dodgy.

Cheers for the quick response.

It cannot be excluded, actually.
Try Standard Diagnostic to see if you can isolate the cause in something benign.

I opened Firefox in safe mode and checked the box "Reset toolbars and controls".
I then restarted Firefox, and the message "Forbid chrome:" was gone.

Ran a virus check with Eset Smart Security, and everything was okay.

No idea what it was, but thanks for your help, and quick responses.

Cheers.

No, Google kinda stole the term from Mozilla, which has always referred as "chrome" the part of the browser which is all around the content (i.e. menus, toolbars, status bar and so on).
