Release notes page auto load

Post by mlp »

Hi
Every time I open my browser, firefox - latest version, the no-script release notes page
automatically loads in a separate tab.

How can I stop this from happening?

Thanks

Have look at the bottom of the "Notification" tab in the options.

Hi
thanks for the quick reply
the "display the release notes on updates" check box is not checked.
It hasen't been checked, but I still get/have the problem of the page automatically loading when I start my browser.

FAQ 2.5:
Notice that if the above "fix" doesn't work or, worse, you keep being redirected on the welcome page every time you restart Firefox,
chances are there's something (like a buggy extension) preventing your preferences from being saved: you may need to
follow this advice, then.
However, it appears that this link may be obsolete, and I will notify Giorgio of that.

See General Troubleshooting Instructions, #3:

If that doesn't work, go to steps 4 and 5 in that thread, or perhaps this is a bit shorter:

Please create a clean profile from scratch. Install only NoScript, leaving all the defaults.
Does the problem still exist? If not, NoScript is not the culprit.

Try adding back your extensions, one at a time, until you find the one that causes the issue.
Then remove all the others, pairing only the suspected one with NoScript, to confirm that the remaining one is the issue.
If the problem is solved even with all add-ons reinstalled, then the previous profile was probably corrupt. Problem solved.

Let us know, thanks.
