contextual menu is empty of permission options

Post by denisep »

Ever since we updated our home computer to Windows 7 Home Premium, I've been having a weird problem with No Script. On old sites that I have visited in the past, the pop-up/contextual menu that gives me all the allow/forbid/temp options for various scripts works fine, same as always. But when I visit a new site, the yellow bar with the menu still pops up, but it's empty of any permissions options. It only lists: "Options...", "Show message about blocked scripts" (I have it checked), "Place message at the bottom" (also checked), "Audio feedback when scripts are blocked" (not checked). Then nothing below, where I expect the list of all the things I can allow/forbid. I'm unable to allow anything new except by clicking "Options..." and manually whitelisting the domain of whatever page I'm on. Also, the yellow bar does say things like "Scripts Partially Allowed| <SCRIPT>: 12 |<OBJECT>: 3" but there's no way to see what it's referencing that I can figure out. I've gone into NoScript to see how I've got the appearance for the contextual menu set up, and there are boxes checked of things that should be showing, plus I haven't changed any options in NS in ages so I can't figure why it would change.
I should add that we've had Win7HP for a while, but I have a laptop and didn't bother about getting the home pc situation fixed. Now that my laptop is dead, I need the home pc to work properly. :( If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. If someone knows the answer, but the solution is difficult or involves something serious like registry stuff, let me know anyway and I'll get the spouse to do it (programmer).
Thanks so much!

Maybe an extensions conflict.
Could you try Standard Diagnostic keeping NoScript installed?
