What does this mean?

Post by JBS1949 »

I read the FAQ and browsed through the previous posts, but didn't find an answer.

When I open a new page in my browser, the noscript message bar has something like "Scripts Currently Forbidden | <Script>: 19 | <Object>: 0" at the left end. In other places it will be a different number "<Script>: 65" ...

Is there somewhere I can find out what the different numbers mean?

It's the count of the HTML elements which attempted to generate scripts or object loads.

If you decide that you don't need the exact count, or find the bar distracting or whatever, you can disable it in NoScript Options > Notifications tab.

Uncheck "Show message about blocked scripts". > OK.

You will still have the color-coding of the NoScript icon to let you know when any content is being blocked, and opening the menu lists their sources.

There is a complete list of the color codes near the top of the NoScript "Features" Page.
