NoScript --> Allow Scripts Globally (dangerous)
Google Kereses (Google Search) button still do not work on
I search for example for "car" on Google.hu
I press Google Kereses button
the url changes from
to
BUT nothing happens. Empty page.
Very strange, this link works but previous one does not.
If I search using firefox search bar, then it is OK.
If I search for images on
the url changes to
and it works fine.

Re: NoScript blocks Google Search button
I booted my PC from another HDD:
WinXP Professional,
and Firefox.
Google Search button worked.
I went back to my original HDD and booted PC from there,
and now Google Search button is working again.
Very strange.
As I see it, this is not a new issue:
[FireFox] "Google search" button no response problem
Enter key doesn't submit google main search form in Firefox 2
(3 pages)
The good thing that everything is back to normal.
I don't know how that has happened.
Thanks for your support.

No Google search results with NoScript activated
===========================================
- Google home page
- enter test
- click the search button
- the URL changes, but the Google homepage stays the same
- restart Firefox (saved tabs with TabMix Plus)
- the Google-search-URL shows a blank grey screen
- disable NoScript: the problem stays the same
- deactivate NoScript: everything works fine
Seems to me like a NoScript problem.

Difference between "disable" and "deactivate"?egg wrote: - disable NoScript: the problem stays the same

Did you try disabling (or deactivating), either way from Tools|Add-ons all your add-ons except NoScript?

NoScript blocks Google Search
I can confirm the strange behaviour of NoScript:
- Go to Google homepage
- type whatever (or test, or ...)
- Google changes automatically to the "search" perspective (with the search field moving up)
- but no results show up
- Press return
- the URL changes, but still no search results
Only "deactivate" NoScript helps to use Google, only to "disable" NoScript is not enough. The problem did not solve itself the last n (n > 10) versions of NoScript (a version number before 2) nor since FF version 3.5 (problably even 3.0).
To get the problem started is not deterministic to reproduce to me. After NoScript-Updates I retry to use NoScript. Sometimes Google works, sometimes it doesn't. But once Google/NoScript quit working together the problem persists and is always reproducible. I use NoScript on several other computers, too. Same FF-Version with the same Plugins (NoScript, TabMix Plus, Adblock Plus). And everything works fine. The only difference is Windows 7 to Windows XP (which should make no difference).
BTW: These suggestions did NOT help:
- Deactivate Forbid @font-face http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=267827
- Allow file://. http://sartoo.de/articles/firefox--nosc ... fonts.html

Re: NoScript blocks Google Search
Oups, FF-5 does not seem to have the "disable" feature (any more). Still only deactivate NoScript helps.
More bug diagnostics:
- Deactivate NoScript
- Restart Firefox
- Seach Google (works fine), leave the search tab open
- Activate NoScript
- Close and restart FF (using TabMix Plus to open the same tabs)
- The automatical reopened Google search works fine (search results show up automatically while you type)
- Open a new tab, open a Google search page, e.g. http://www.google.de (yes, I'm German ;o)
- The search shows no results (stays blank/white)
- All following Google searches do not work, too.
When I reopen FF with an open Google-search-URLs and NoScript activated (before and after) the page is reopened completely blank (but white).

Re: NoScript blocks Google Search
Yep, google is allowed. NoScript shows that nothing is blocked. The options are:
google.de verbieten (forbid google.de; BTW: the same problem and configuration on google.com)
gstatic.com verbieten (forbid gstatic.com)
I uninstalled NoScript and reinstalled it. The configuration and the problem where still there afterwards.

Re: NoScript blocks Google Search [SOLVED]
- I opened the Add-ons-Manager (Extras -> Add-ons) and the NoScript configuration (Erweiterungen -> Einstellungen)
- I did an export of my whitelist (Positivliste exportieren).
- Resetted the configuration (Einstellungen zurücksetzen).
- google worked fine again (without script, no automatic search results, but with results after pressing return).
- I reimported the whitelist and google is still working fine (with automatic search results).
I seems to me that this was a problem of a very old NoScript configuration.

Re: NoScript blocks Google Search [SOLVED]
The search-as-you-type feature was not working on the Google Search Page and it was definitely related to NoScript because it worked fine when NoScript was disabled. With this simple suggestion, everything works fine now!egg wrote:- I opened the Add-ons-Manager (Extras -> Add-ons) and the NoScript configuration (Erweiterungen -> Einstellungen)

NoScript is enabled, my whitelist has been re-imported and Google Search page works fine!
