Automatic rules creation from site logging

Post by safeuser »

Hi! I am looking for an automatic tool that will log activity from some site (for ex. on-line bank) and create set of rules for this activity. Thanks.

If you mean, scripting permissions and/or ABE rules, there isn't one that I know of, except for the one sitting at the keyboard. ;)

At each site, open the NoScript menu, observe the source of scripts and other objects. A bank's home site script, of course, almost always must be allowed. Be very suspicious of third-party scripts, but see NoScript Quick Start Guide for the increasingly-frequent use of different domain names to store native content.

See SOME SITES YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO ALLOW for scripts that are generally unnecessary, being for data-mining or only for advertising.

See Surrogate Script and Listing of script sources for which surrogates are provided for "surrogate scripts" that will run in the place of privacy-invasive scripts.

See Site-Specific-Permission Questions? PLEASE READ THIS FIRST! and Creating Site-Specific Permissions via ABE for using NoScript's ABE feature to customize permissions per-site.

This should give you a good start on creating your own rules, which will become natural with a bit of practice. Let us know if these are helpful.

In NoScript's menu there's a "Recently blocked sites" submenu.
Clear it and browse the site, then check for whatever has been met in the meanwhile.
