Allow Globally: Is this the same as Firefox default?

Post by guesswho3205 »

Hello,

I am going to word my question 3 different ways, but they all are asking the same question....

- Is the NoScript "Allow Global" option the same as running firefox without any plugins?
- Am I more at risk by adding the NoScript add-on, and then allowing global scripts?
- Is Firefox (Native Install with flash and java) safer than having the same environment with NoScript installed and the "Allow Global" enabled?

Background:
- I am a new user.
- I want to add this to my production environment at work 20-40 users.
- I want to use the NoScript Firefox plugin in order to open local links (windows file shares) from my dokuwiki website using Firefox.
- I have to use the "Allow Globally" option so that sites run properly, seamlessly, without prompts and user intervention.
- In order to introduce to my production environment, I have to allow global scripts for my users.

No.

More at risk then running NoScript not allowing globally.
Though still more secure the running without NoScript.

No.

NoScript does more the just blocking JavaScript.
So even if you allow JavaScript globally, there are still other protections that it provides.

Thank you. The link in interesting. You knew that I might need some means of deployment to 30 people :)
That task does not look like the deployment can inherit the options though, so now I am trying to config the allow global and trusted site, and then deploy my extension directory to all profile/pcs.

I am glad to see that I am not weakening security though. Are you an admin or developer?
