Even in safe mode a bank's page does not display

Post by Ma Pe »

Background info:

FF was updated to 10, but it checked for compatibility every time I started it. Also IMTranslator, FlashGot and NoScript showed up every time when FF started. I did not know how to change it. Therefore I installed FF 9 without uninstalling FF 10. With this flip-flop, these three pages continued to appear, but at least the repeated compatibility check stopped.

I uninstalled IMTranslator and FlashGot and their respective pages don't show any more. I don't use them often. I want to install them again later.

I know that I can check an option in NoScript that it will not to display itself after FF startup. I did not do this because I want it to display itself after an update. Therefore I don't know how to stop if from displaying again and again.

End of Background. Now the main problem:

I have been able to display mybank.com or www.mybank.com. After the last NoScript update I get a white page. mybank.com is listed in the whitelist.

I attempted to solve it as follows:

I removed it from the whitelist. This time the message menu allows me to chose this: Allow mybank.com, www.mybank.com, and http://www.mybank.com -- Is that new because I never noticed something like this before. There used to be only one choice.

The one I select, say www.mybank.com, is entered into the whitelist. However, the other two choices are never displayed again. Is that correct?

I don't want to uninstall NoScript. Therefore I started FF in safe mode (through the Help menu), did NOT check any boxes, and started. Surprise: I can't display mybank.com. It's white.

Observations: The address bar displays the URL history. I even manually deleted mybank but it always comes back.
mybank.com comes up in IE.

What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

All your issues combined (and especially the problem persisting in safe mode) point either at a corrupted Firefox installation or a corrupted profile.

I strongly recommend to uninstall Firefox, remove or backup your profile to a different location and start with a fresh Firefox and profile.

Good luck and let me know.
