File names clips on youtube

Post by Inkobob »

We have FF + FlashGot + Download Master. Go, for example, the YouTube page, turn on the trailer and an icon in the status bar of fleshgota, press the right button and see something like "50MB - Name_clip.flv", click on it and went to download Download Master, but there it is in the download list becomes "videoplayback.flv". How do I get passed the name of the file?

Download Master (and most other external download managers) don't support file name passing.
That's why you can configure a separate download manager from FlashGot Options|Media (choosing "Built-in" is advisable).

For example, "SaveFrom.net Assistant 1.37" (https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/a ... et-helper/) also passes a reference to Download Master. But the file is downloaded with the correct name!
Maybe you can fix something in the algorithm have a reference?

Why did not you use "filename=" command-line option for Downloadmaster?
Current Download Master support (like modules for almost all the other Windows download managers) don't use the command line at all: they use the COM automation object shipping with the download manager for Internet Explorer integration instead.

You can easily configure an alternate custom command-line based support module for Download Master and set it as the default for media downloads the way explained here, though.
