Re: google account
So if you disable NoScript, you remain signed in?

Re: google account
Yes, with Noscript disabled there is no problem.

Re: google account
Do you get a bar at the top, something like "Noscript blocked a META redirection...." ?
What Google-related scripts are you allowing, and which are in your permanent whitelist?
Things like igmodules, that aren't familiar to users of basic Google services?
When the page reloads after a permission, often there will be new entries in the NS menu, as the newly-allowed scripts call to yet more script sources. Annoying, but a growing trend on the Web. (sigh).
So it may take several series of allow or TA, refresh, look at the menu again.
If you're a frequent user, you might want to put *all* of these in your whitelist, or use ABE to create a rule which allows these scripts at Google sites, but nowhere else (unless there are other sites at which you want to allow these scripts, and these sites, too, can be included in the rule).
Do you use NoScript's Advanced > Force HTTPS on cookies, on behavior, or on both? Neither?
Certain that cookies are not being dumped when you leave your page?
Next time, before you leave the site, look in Firefox Tools > Options > Privacy > Show cookies, then leave the site for somewhere else, and see if the same cookies are still there. Unlikely to be a NS issue, but a common cause of unwanted logouts is intentional or unintentional deleting of the site's cookies. (Do you use a third-party cookie manager?)
If none of this gives a solution, then the next time it happens, please open Firefox Tools > Web Developer > Error Console.
Click the red X. Copy and paste any Error messages here.
Then click the blue i. Copy and paste here any Information messages that are pertinent to Noscript. Typically, they will start with
[NOSCRIPT], [NOSCRIPT XSS], [ABE], or similar.

Re: google account
Thank you for the reply.
I've just noticed that after enabling Noscript, not only i get signed out of the igoogle ( strangely, google account on google toolbar & gmail are not affected) but also, grayed out mozilla menu bar appears on top, all the buttons on google toolbar get rearranged & customise toolbars option is grayed out too.
I've checked cookies & none disappear. The error console has no errors connected to Noscript. Noscript has all the default settings. I run Firefox 9.
In view of all the above, even though i wuold like to have the protection given by Noscript, i have to disable it at least until the solution is found. As it is , it is too much trouble.

Re: google account
It smells a lot like an extensions conflict.kamanza wrote:Thank you for the reply.

Could you try Standard Diagnostic keeping NoScript enabled?

Re: google account
I did what you suggested: started mozilla in the safe mode & enabled only Noscript. the problem persists: i still get signed out of igoogle. I give up.

Please, not quite yet.kamanza wrote:I did what you suggested: started mozilla in the safe mode & enabled only Noscript. the problem persists: i still get signed out of igoogle. I give up.
Immediately following the first section linked in Standard Diagnostic, there is another section that deals with profile corruption issues.
Please create a new profile from scratch. Install only NoScript, in its latest version. Leave all the defaults. Now try your browsing again.
Notice that this is different from starting Fx in Safe Mode, because if the profile itself is corrupted, Safe Mode still uses the corrupted profile. This test may reveal such a corruption. This is not uncommon.
We all know how frustrating and annoying computer issues can be. (They can be just as hard on us troubleshooters.

Thank you for your patience and persistence.
