Yes, i got a problem with the websites added to my whitelist.

These sites i have never visited or let along putting them on my whitelist. I keep removing them but they come back as soon as i restart.

Sites name are:

Dmtracker.com
Revsci.net
Scanscout.com
intellitxt.com
Google-analytics.com
Informaction.com

What is going on here?????

Please note that your reply was from an unregistered guest and not from a forum team member or even an established registered user with a track record.

I will take your post seriously. What other extensions do you have? And do you have Sandboxie or any other virtualization tool (VMware, etc.)? In the latter case, any changes you make are indeed wiped out when you close and restart.

Also, please try Standard Diagnostic. If the problem persists after that, please let us know.

Perhaps, my Noscript somehow got corrupted? I was also wondering. When uninstalling Noscript is there any traces of it left on your pc or is it completely gone?

Yes, sometimes an uninstall/reinstall works also, as does "reset" in NoScript > Options. Some type of corruption does sound likely there. Thanks for the positive report.

I don't think so, but as NoScript FAQ 2.3 doesn't address that specifically, I'd rather not answer. Giorgio is, I hope, sleeping after his all-night rewrite, but perhaps another team member can answer more definitely. You can certainly examine your Firefox profile folder and see that the NS folder is gone (folder {73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232}, and could examine the file prefs.js in the Profile folder and search for "noscript", if you're comfortable with that. Caution: improperly changing prefs.js can break a lot of things, including Fx itself.

No, most likely for a certain period of time you surfed with the "Temporarily allow top level site by default" option enabled, or you used "Allow all on this page" too much liberally.

It's completely gone from a functional standpoint (i.e. the code is gone and nothing get executed), but its peferences persist in prefs.js (like for most if not all the other extensions), so if you reinstall or update you don't need to restart over and over again.
If you want a fresh preferences set over an existent NoScript installation, you can use NoScript Options|Reset.

Well, i do use "Temporarily Allow Page" a lot. The computer that i had the problem on is constantly use by everyone. The one i am using to type this reply is my private pc Is there anyway i can prevent this from happen again in the future.

"Temporarily allow" does not add sites to your whitelist. You would have to allow that script again at your next session or next visit to that site (or a site running that script).

There's your answer right there. Wish we'd known that up front. Is "everyone" a group of people whom you can train in your desired use of NS, or is it people you don't know or can't give guidance to? If the former, just teach them the difference between "Temp allow" and "allow". *And disable "Scripts allowed globally" in NS > Options > General.* Let's hope they don't know how to turn it back on. You might still have to reset or edit your whitelist after others have used it. The problem is, if they allowed a malicious script or plugin, clickjack, etc., the machine might already be compromised. Too late then. You could consider a virtualized environment, like VMware (complex and heavy) or Sandboxie (simple and light). Remove the Fx shortcut from your desktop and Programs menu and replace it with the Sandboxie shortcut. Configure SB to "Automatically delete contents of Sandbox (when the browser is closed)". Then the other users will likely open only the sandboxed browser, and any configuration changes, scripts allowed, malware, etc. should get flushed when they're done.

You can still get to the non-sandboxed Fx via the Firefox.exe in its programs folder, or make some secret, coded, or hidden shortcut for yourself. I can give you a way to make a Windows System shortcut there if you like -- they'd probably never find it.

If "everyone' is the entire school, library, coffee shop, etc., I don't know what you could do, except run your own virtualized environment from a flash drive, if their machines permit that. I personally would never do anything even remotely private or sensitive on a public machine.
