Placeholder for Java games

Post by nagan »

After upgrading to FF 6.0 , on clicking Java games they open up directly without the NS (7rc2) Placeholder permission step usually seen before.

Yes it is checked and I never had any need to tamper with the options during upgrade.
So here it is..
If I have other FF windows / tabs open and then I click the Java Games applet file , it works perfect.
If I open the Java applet the first thing (ie with no other FF windows open) NS is bypassed.

You know those good ol' days where a saved applet game used to be run via a browser. When I click on this html file , FF opens and loads the game. For the rest please go to my first post.

Yet a URL to test and be sure we're looking at the same thing would be nice.

Notice the problem happens only if the applet is loaded from a local (file://) page and before any other network activity.

Please check latest development build, thanks.

I cannot reproduce.
Firefox 7.0.1 clean profile + NoScript 2.1.4 default configuration.
I even set your caterpiller.htm file as the home page, to be sure it gets opened before any other request.
The Java applet placeholder is shown just fine.
