[Resolved] Problems with ABE

Post by part »

I've been using NoScript! for a long time without any problems but now I have some issues with the ABE.
Basically I've moved from my house to my university's accommodation and from then I get this ABE requests on the top of the page, I only get them some times though. Now I don't know exactly what ABE is but all I know is that when I get an ABE request most of the time the page has not loaded properly (or not loaded at all).
In my accommodation I don't need to use my modem router, I connect the ethernet cable directly to the wall, so I suspect that this may have something to do with the issues I'm having.
How can I resolve? Or should I just disable ABE?
Thanks for any help. :)

P.S.
Both Firefox and NoScript! are updated.

Could you please take note of and show here the exact message you get from ABE?

Here is an image with 2 examples, the top one is from this forum.

I have no idea what all that means, I've always left ABE at default and never had problems.

Try to insert the following rule in the beginning of your NoScript Options|Advanced|ABE SYSTEM ruleset:

Code: Select all

Site 10.3.50.6
Accept
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.2; WOW64; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0.2

It seems I cheered too early, I still get the same request:

As you said I added those 2 lines to the SYSTEM rulesets.

Added? They should be inserted in the beginning of the ruleset (before the "Site LOCAL" thing).
How does the ruleset look like now?

I had inserted them in the wrong place I guess, now it looks like this:

Code: Select all

# Prevent Internet sites from requesting LAN resources.
Site 10.3.50.6
Accept
Site LOCAL
Accept from LOCAL
Deny
It seems to be working, thanks. :)
