doesn't work for me, so sad

Post by lapiubella »

Hey Gang

I am sure this piece of software rocks, but it doesn't work for me.

I have a very specific need, and will only use it for that website as I really have no time to have fun.
Anyway I am a longtime subscriber to an academic society that had a journal (dating back to 1896 ending in the 1940s).
They had the brillant idea of digitizing the whole thing (great) to allow easy (?) online access. Thing is, they digitized each page as a gif, there are 40 volumes each with around 450 pages. I need most of them and as it would be too long to search for the tables of contents (not identified as such) let's say i need them all (40x450 pages).
That said I am running SL on a Mac (well not really Dell mini 10v hackintosh) as I am on a research trip needed to keep it light, Firefox, I downloaded Folx.
Whenever I go to the webpage and selct all the links to the gif and ask (gently) FlashGot to get them...it does get me a webpage without the Gif but with a link to download the Gif...
I'd be glad to get some help, but would only provide the www address and the access code via MP, I feel kind of bad (illegal) to display that online.
Anyway if anyone has some time...that'd really save my life and my dissertation.
Thanks

Since the GIFs are not directly linked to your TOC, what you really need is a spider like WGet.
Unfortunately I cannot do of more help unless I can see the thing, so feel free to PM me.
