Registered to confirm this.

FYI, I have Bookmarked two URLs for 'feeds when I want to check by hand'.

A
"Recent stable releases from noscript.net"
http://noscript.net/feed

B
"Recent all builds from noscript.net"
http://noscript.net/feed?c=200&t=a

I tend to use B, "Recent all builds... ", and I frequently use the link (within the feed) to get the latest XPI.

I also find the "NoScript CHANGELOG" useful.
http://noscript.net/changelog
However, as the feeds have the Date and Time of the release I find the feeds are more useful.

Other points:
IMHO, NoScript is the best Add-On for Firefox.
Used since September 2008.

I tend to browse with the latest version, via the XPI from the "Recent all builds... " feed.
I also have a Firefox profile without NoScript for 'emergency use only'.

Very old hardware with not enough RAM on this Laptop.
So I'm sticking with Firefox 3.6.18 for now.

It works for me both on Fx 5 and Nightly (8.0a1).
Could you check on a clean profile with just NoScript installed?

Ditto.
(Open browser, open link such as http://noscript.net/feed?c=9, Subscribe as Live Bookmark, all works, unless there is more to it then that?)
Ignore. I was wrong.

It was a clean profile.

Fx 5.0.1 & 6.0b4, NS 2.1.2.6rc3, new profiles
  1. load http://noscript.net/feed
  2. the page is blank, aside from the header
  3. error console has two errors:

    Code: Select all

    Error: SubscribeHandler is not defined
    Source File: http://noscript.net/feed
    Line: 45
    Error: SubscribeHandler is not defined
    Source File: http://noscript.net/feed
    Line: 1

  4. no problems in rc2

I am confirming what al_9x is reporting.

I have created new Profile.

Went to the NoScript Forum.

Right clicked the three URLs, in my post of Thu Aug 04 2011 5:08 pm (above),
to open the three URLs in three Tabs. Bookmarked these three URLs.
I have pasted in the top of the "Recent all builds..." feed below.
I have NOT subscribed to the feeds, just browsed to the URLs.

All is OK.

Then I used the "Recent all builds..." feed to install the XPI for NoScript 2.1.2.6rc2.

All three URLs are still OK.
So NoScript 2.1.2.6rc2 has 'working feeds'.
I have 'pasted in' the top of the "Recent all builds..." feed (below).

Next, used the "Recent all builds..." feed to install the XPI for NoScript 2.1.2.6rc3.

Now, with NoScript 2.1.2.6rc3, the feeds are broken.

Error console gives
Error: SubscribeHandler is not defined
Source File: http://noscript.net/feed
Line: 1
and
Error: SubscribeHandler is not defined
Source File: http://noscript.net/feed?c=200&t=a
Line: 1
So, I think feeds were OK at 2.1.2.6rc2
but 2.1.2.6rc3 seems to have broken the feeds.

Here's a relevant log entry:

Code: Select all

[NoScript] Content BLOCKED Script inclusion on forbidden page -- type: 2, location: chrome://browser/content/feeds/subscribe.js, origin: about:feeds, ctx: <HTML Element>, mime: application/javascript, null
taking the cue from this, whitelisting about:feeds resolves the problem, but that was not required before

Confirmed on Fx 3.6.18 for Windows, adding about:feeds to the whitelist allows one to see the feeds in 2.1.2.6rc3.

I'm not intending to add this to my main profile (which is at 2.1.2.6rc2).

Giorgio, thank you very much for another rapid fix!

Confirmed on Fx 3.6.18 for Windows. With 2.1.2.6rc4 you do NOT need to whitelist about:feeds - back to how things were before 2.1.2.6rc3
