Weird IP on Youtube

Anyone know what this ip is? 74.125.5.38

I went to youtube, something I don't do much and this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMZwZiU0kKs I see a link to this ip but I don't see it in NoScript, I don't see it via ABP blockable elements but RequestPolicy catches it and inspecting the code using Firebug shows it but I can't make sense of its purpose. I googled it and nothing comes back for this ip, so I am just confused I guess and hoping for some insight from everyone, thanks in advance.

Here is something bizarre, I googled the ip, nothing comes back but if you put the ip in the url http://74.125.5.38/ and go to it, it shows google's search page, WTF?

Pulling whois record seems to confirm its a legit google domain but why would they reference the ip instead of the domain name? It still seems odd to me.
