Tab Switching Problem
Tab Switching Problem
Good evening.
This problem is not the same as the one reported in a previous thread. I will try to provide as much help as possible to replicate the problem:
1. Open a page that has a textarea (like the one I'm using to submit this comment)
2. Write something
3. Press CTRL+T to open a new tab
4. Search for something in Google using the Quick Search on the top right
5. Click the first link (mine was Wikipedia)
6. Click CTRL+T to go back to the original page with the textarea
7. Continue to type something, notice that it is not possible, it seems keys are not accepted anymore.
With NoScript disabled the problem goes away.
Thank you.

PS: It seems that not only the keyboard does not work properly, if I try to scroll by moving the vertical scrollbar up or down, nothing happens either.

Re: Tab Switching Problem
Could you check whether the problem persists with latest development build? If it does, could you look in your Tools>Error Console for NoScript-related messages?

Re: Tab Switching Problem
Hi Giorgio.
Thank you for the kind reply, unfortunately, the problem persisted. Some more information:
a. I cannot replicate on my laptop having Firefox 4, here (as my signature says) I have 3.6
b. The console errors are:
[NoScript ClearClick] Swallowed event keyup on [site where I have the textarea] (rapid fire from http://en.wikipedia.org)
More errors for keydown and keypress.

Re: Tab Switching Problem
Are you double sure you've got NS 2.1.2.2rc1?
I cannot reproduce at all, no matter how hard I try (BTW, I suppose your second "CTRL+T" at point #6 should be "CTRL+Tab" or, even better, "CTRL+Shift+Tab") .

Re: Tab Switching Problem
Hi Giorgio.
Yes, Version 2.1.2.2rc2 says About > Options.
You're right on step 6, CTRL+TAB. It doesn't happen if I switch tabs with mouse clicks but as soon as I use CTRL+TAB, the problem occurs. The "[NoScript ClearClick] Swallowed event keyup on" suggest that it is a NoScript problem, or I'm confusing things?
Thanks.

Re: Tab Switching Problem
That version of NoScript doesn't exist, Chris. Could you check again please? Make sure you're using the latest development build.chrisCB wrote: Version 2.1.2.2rc2 says About > Options.

Re: Tab Switching Problem
I meant "rc1" sorry, yes, downloaded from the Development page.
Console keeps showing errors:
[NoScript ClearClick] Swallowed event keydown on http://forums.informaction.com/posting. ... f=7&t=6792 (rapid fire from http://noscript.net)

Re: Tab Switching Problem
Can I please have an update? More and more times I'm ending up with no keyboard/mouse access when I switch pages and it seems clear from the Console that it is NoScript related

Re: Tab Switching Problem
Sorry, but I'm still unable to reproduce (and yes, I did check on 3.6 thinking it was a version-specific problem).
Maybe an extensions conflict?
Does it happen on a clean profile with just NoScript installed?
If it doesn't, could you please try Standard Diagnostic?

Re: Tab Switching Problem
Hi Giorgio.
I disabled all addons and problem persisted. Incidentally, I had another profile running NoScript 1.9.9.50 and with this profile I cannot replicate the problem so it seems to be a problem with one of the latest releases. Can I go back to 1.9.9.50 on my "official" profile? Is it safe?
Or even better, is there a way to disable [NoScript ClearClick]? This seems to be the cause of the problem.
Thank you.

Re: Tab Switching Problem
The same
This update improved it as in it occurs after 10-15 tabs instead of 3-4 but the problem is still there, same errors in the console.
Thanks.
