Hi,
The thread on this topic is only open where we would need to register to post (Noscript General), so I apologize for starting another thread, but I didn't want to register to post a couple questions about this.
I am very not great with tech things and just need some help and understanding on a few things.
As FF auto updated to 2.1.1.2rc1, do I need to change back to 2.1.1.1. or just keep it as long as works okay?
When I change to the next stable version, (not sure what they are called) does the 'rc' version I now have require an uninstall? I know that some test versions of some programs require uninstalls or something different than normal process..and that's what I'm wondering about.
Also, I had no idea that FF automatically updates addons. I did see that firefox checks for addon updates, and I removed that check mark to stop that, but I don't see anywhere saying it's okay to download anything. It is set to, "if any updates found ask me what i want to do", and I see in the update history offered that it only shows firefox browser updates in there.
Is there another place in Firefox where I need to disable it from automatically updating so that it doesn't do something like this again? I check for updates for addons almost every day which I guess is why I never knew that FF automatically updates some things.
I understand it is a bug issue that firefox did that update, but would like to stop firefox from ever auto updating at all.
Thank you for your help!

That's OK this way. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=663780 for more details.Guest wrote: As FF auto updated to 2.1.1.2rc1, do I need to change back to 2.1.1.1. or just keep it as long as works okay?
Open Tools|Add-ons, click the tools button on the top right and uncheck "Update Add-ons Automatically".Guest wrote: I understand it is a bug issue that firefox did that update, but would like to stop firefox from ever auto updating at all.
