NoScript conflicts with iReader add-on

Post by ael »

The iReader add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/195787/ reformats web pages to improve their readability, similar to the Readability bookmarklet.

When page permissions are not set to "allowed" in NoScript, this add-on does not work - nothing happens when clicking on its icon. When a page is allowed, there is no problem. But it should not be necessary to have additional permissions just to reformat what is already there.

Still broken. Ireader works fine as long as the page it is on has javascript allowed. This should not be necessary and defeats the purpose of NoScript. Please fix this!!

This must be fixed by iReader's developers.
There are several ways for an extension to execute Javascript code in forbidden pages.
iReader is doing this the most ingenuous (and wrong) way, thus its script get blocked because are seen as "normal" page scripts, rather than privileged ones.

Thanks for the quick reply - I will try to pass this on, hopefully they will fix it!
Also, if you have the time maybe you could email them a link or two to some info telling them what they need to change, that might help...

Is this easy to fix? iReader's developers are MIA, but if you could give me some links I would give it a shot.
