Permissions keep getting lost

For the last 2 days I've had to constantly re-allow every site I've been to multiple times. Sometimes I'll allow a site and then 2 minutes later without leaving the site, I have to do it again. What do I have to do to fix this? I've already tried uninstalling it.

I am having the same problem. Running FF 4.0 with sync enabled (two additional machines) on Windows 7 64-bit and XP.. This is happening on at least two of them - haven't had a chance to verify the 3rd.

Only been going on yesterday and today.

Have you got any of this devices having NoScript with a default whitelist ?
At any rate, you can disable sync support by setting the noscript.sync.enabled [url=http://kb..org/About:config]about:config[/url] preference to false.

I just went and did a reset of NoScript on all my devices. This seems to have cleared up the problem.

I have tried to reset my settings twice and still nothing. Trying the noscript.sync.enabled to false.. i ll report back if it works.

But do you actually have Firefox Sync enabled for preferences?

I do have FF sync enabled across 4 different computers/browsers.
BTW... the setting did not help my permission keep resetting. any other suggestions.

so i disabled "Preferences" under FF Sync options. looks like its working.

you mind explaining why this is? and how noscript works with FF sync.

All NoScript's configuration items are stored in preferences.
Therefore NoScript tells Sync to add its own preferences to the list of those to be synchronized.

What may have happened to you is that on or more of your devices were overwriting NoScript's preference with blank ones in the cloud, and when they got synchronized in the other devices they got erased as well.

I seem to be having the same issue. Apparently, if I have Firefox open both at home and at work, I can see my settings being overwritten pretty much consistently. For example, I went onto one of the download sites with the wait 30 seconds etc. I whitelisted, and switched tabs. A minute later I came back and it was frozen on Please wait 8 seconds... Apparently it synced and overwrote from my work computer.

My question is, is there any way to diagnose this and submit some sort of log that will help with the bug-fixing? Is there some development build that we can test; I didn't see anything in the dev build changelog about this.

I''ve been getting the same thing ever since I updated to FF4 and it's infuriating because I don't know which computer is overwriting them. Until I found this forum thread I had no idea why, I thought it was a bug in FF4.

I don't visit the same websites on my computers in the office as I do on my computers at home. I don't want/need them overwriting each other and disabling permissions. I don't want to have to remember to go through extra configuration steps (about:config) just to keep from losing configuration data every time I install FF on a virtual machine that I use frequently.

Overwriting something completely is not synchronization, it's replacement.

I think either the lists should be managed intelligently in the cloud (i.e. keep the most recent value of each entry rather than just overwriting all entries) or else the "synching" should not be the default behavior since it overwrites rather than syncs.

However I tend to agree with Dan, disabling NoScript's sync by default and exposing a UI option is probably a good idea.
