Filesonic

Post by hairyelf »

I am not sure if this is where to put this. I am using flashgot 1.2.2 in firefox 3.6.10 and flashget 1.9.6.1073. I am using flashget mainly because it was first i could find that worked and I could program to download at night. When I used to download from sharingmatrix things would work fine. It gave me an alphanumeric code as the file name until it started the download which changed to the actual file name when the download began. When sharingmatrix became filesonic it still worked for a while. Now it gives me a number for the file number and gives a html file instead of the file. Any help would be more than welcome.

Do the downloads actually work bypassing FlashGot (i.e. just clicking on the link)?
As far as I can see many links are broken this way too, so it seems a problem on Filesonic's side...

Wait, maybe I've found the culprit...
[EDIT] Damn, it seems more elusive than I thought first... It will take a lot of time to figure out, it seems...

Yes, I can download them bypassing flashgot. I mainly like downloading overnight when everyone is asleep here so I'm not bothering them.

Sorry, it seems there's no way to work around the new Filesonic setup without the download manager's cooperation.
Best solution ATM is getting FlashGot's latest development build (which removes the now incompatible Filesonic pre-processing) and using it together JDownloader with its Filesonic hosting plugin (which is built-in, IIRC).

You have to stay logged into filesonic, for it to work.
