Why multiple clicks of "temporarily allow all" required?

Post by fgoodwin »

When I click "temporarily allow all" I expect it to allow ALL. Instead, I have to click two, three or more times to temporarily allow all. Why doesn't it allow all the first time I click on it?

Because some script sources aren't there yet when you click first.
They are added dynamically by the scripts you've just allowed, therefore they can't be shown in the menu on first round.
"Temporary allow all on this page" really means "all I can see", for obvious security reasons, otherwise you'd risk to blindly allow malicious scripts injected on a trustworthy but compromised web site.

Thanx -- I thought it might be something like that.

Is there any way to ask for a complete privilege at once? I trust some websites and it's rather annoying to see page load happening 4-5 times before it's completely loaded.

Thank you.

You trust them so much that you're sure they won't ever be compromised with a frame or script inclusion from a malicious source?

You're right. I didn't think about it through. Maybe it's not even secure to click on 'Allow all this page' on trusted websites at all.

Thank you.

At least "Allow all on this page" means "All you can see in this menu", so you've got a chance to check first (e.g. by middle-clicking the menu items and looking at the information page).

I didn't know about this feature. Thank you :-)
You just helped me to be more careful about security. I appreciate that.
