Can anyone who really knows this extension tell me how I can clear it off my system since it no longer shows up in Firefox and I can no longer use it, but there are multiple files for it still hanging around??
I have the following 3 subdirectories for NoSCript in my profile. Can I just delete them? Will that get rid of the extension?
C:\***\Profile\FF\gecko\extensions\{73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232}(2)
C:\***\Profile\FF\gecko\extensions\{73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232}(3)
C:\***\Profile\FF\gecko\extensions\{73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232}(4)
Is there any other junk leftover from it? Do I need to do anything else to clean it off my system?
How about one of its developers? Surely you have some input on this?
Thanks, gecko

Usually uninstalling from Tools|Add-ons.halepohaku wrote:Can anyone who really knows this extension tell me how I can clear it off my system
Deleting its folder will work, but it may cause some issues with your chrome registry.
The 1st thing you should ask yourself is "why?"halepohaku wrote: since it no longer shows up in Firefox and I can no longer use it, but there are multiple files for it still hanging around??
This, for instance, might be an Add-Ons Manager corruption.
Could you try to follow the steps outlined in this article?
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_Iss ... sion_files
Also, if you've got Firefox extensions called "Zone Alarm Toolbar", "HP Smart Web Printing", "Skype", ".NET Framework Assistant" or "McAfee Site Advisor" please uninstall them: they're buggy and known to cause this problem.
If "***" is the same path in all the 3 instance, this means your add-ons manager is seriously f**d up and add problems unpacking the extension in its correct path (without the parenthesized number), leaving multiple duplicated behind. It also probably means NoScript is NOT installed, since there's no directory without the parenthesized ordinal number.halepohaku wrote: I have the following 3 subdirectories for NoSCript in my profile. As I said, you shouldn't be worried by this "junk" (they're some KBs on the disk which never get loaded, and you can just delete them or keep them), but you should better investigate on why Firefox is failing at installing extensions correctly ATM.halepohaku wrote: Is there any other junk leftover from it? In fact, even though this is NOT a NoScript-specific problem but a broken Firefox profile, see above.halepohaku wrote: How about one of its developers? Surely you have some input on this?

Re: NoScript is gone from my system!!!
Thank you for your reply.
I cannot uninstall NoScript from FF as it does not show as being installed in FF.
It does not appear to have been corrupted as a part of the FF install, it was corrupted by either installation of a poorly designed printer install of an Epson WF 840 (very poorly designed) or a system restore that did not function correctly. Why there were parts of NoScript lying around is likely to be the fault of the extension installer, but that does not seem to be the cause of this particular problem.
I had already done all the things you had mentioned previously without resolution (see my answer on prior page).
And with no definitive answer from anyone who seemed to reasonably know about retaining my settings/options, I decided I might as well try to do a "new" install of NoScript, and just redo all the settings/options for all the sites I have visited over the last several years. NoScript reinstalled without a fuss and reset to its initial status, which is my main frustration.
Now I see that you can do an EXPORT. Is that an export of all settings/options (I see there is also another one for the white list)? If I had exported all my settings prior to NoScript disappearing, would I have been able to IMPORT that exported file back into the newly installed NoScript and not have lost all my settings/options from over the years? If so, is this the same as the "Bookmark" save it refers to?
Is there a way I can IMPORT my old settings/options from a saved NoScript bookmark?
Thank you, Sherron

Yes to both.
No, the "bookmark" thing is a way to automatically save your setup into a bookmark to make it easy for a bookmark sync service such as XMark to keep your configuration synchronized across multiple PCs.geckohale wrote:If so, is this the same as the "Bookmark" save it refers to?
This feature is being deprecated and will be soon replaced by proper Firefox Sync integration.
