[RESOVED] Toolbar icon stretches toolbars vertically

Post by Cabal »

It appears that the new toolbar icon with the arrow placed underneath the NoScript icon is much taller than before. On Firefox 3.6.13 on Linux, this causes whichever toolbar it's placed on (in my case, the Navigation Toolbar) to stretch vertically. It's a bit annoying, moving the arrow back to the right of the icon would probably fix it. Thanks.

Sure. I forgot to mention, I have the "use small icons" option enabled.

Have you got any special theme or OS-level customization?
It looks "normal" (arrow on the left, no extra height) for me on Ubuntu Lucid.

Nope, using a stock Debian 5.0/Lenny with Clearlooks GTK+ theme (I think that might be the default? Not sure). Nothing fancy, no Firefox theme installed.

I could work around it by moving the icon back to the status bar, but with the bar redesigns in the upcoming 4.0 release, it seems like the issue would just return eventually.

Edit: Have you tried toggling the "use small icons" option? This normally shrinks both icons and the Navigation Toolbar, but the current height of the NoScript icon causes it not to. Maybe that would demonstrate better.

Yes, small icons works fine for me too.
Are you using the stock firefox from Mozilla or the one from the distro.

Firefox straight from Mozilla.

I should probably also add, I'm using nVidia drivers on the stock X.org with no special X configuration other than the nVidia driver option. DPI setting is left at whatever is defaulted to.

I booted into Windows to see what it looks like there (correct, obviously). I notice that the triangle is much smaller and closer to the NoScript icon. An issue with the downward arrow on my GTK theme, maybe?

The new workaround in 2.0.9.7 works well, thanks.
