FF4b9, NoScript 2.0.9.3, running on OS X 10.6.6.
Under FF3, the NoScript S icon appears in the status bar at all times. When there are one or more blocks, there is also yellow line above the status bar that shows "Scripts Currently Forbidden" and has the "Option" button at the far right.
In the FF4 betas (I saw this behavior on b7 and b8 on another machine), the icon doesn't show up on the bottom bar (I don't believe they're calling it a status bar any longer) consistently, if the page contains no blocks. That is, the yellow "Scripts Currently Forbidden" displays if there are blocks, but once the blocks are removed, there is no longer a way to get to NoScript, because the S icon is not there.
I looked at Customize on that bottom toolbar, and there are two NoScript icons in the set, but they are "Allow all this page" and "Disallow all this page" icons, not the standard S icon that displays the popup menu.
I did three or four different searches on the forum, found a couple others related to the icon, but not this one. My apologies if I missed it, didn't use the right search terms, etc.
I've tried disabling all of my other plugins, no help. This is new to FF4; I never saw the behavior under FF3.
Thanks.

Re: Icon periodically disappears in Firefox Beta
Good grief. My wife calls this Male Pattern Blindness.
The icon was someplace I had never seen it, didn't expect it, and therefore didn't notice it — at the top of the FF window, directly to the left of the location bar. I dragged it back to the Customize window, and then down to the status bar, and all is right with the (my) world.
My sincere apologies for the noise!

Re: Icon periodically disappears in Firefox Beta
This should happen only if you've got the addons-bar (the way they call the status bar now) hidden first time you install or upgrade NoScript in Fx 4.vr8ce wrote:The icon was someplace I had never seen it, didn't expect it, and therefore didn't notice it — at the top of the FF window, directly to the left of the location bar. Otherwise (if it's visible) the toolbar button goes in the same place (on the bottom) as the old status bar icon, exactly for this reason (minimal surprise principle).
