Once upon a time, I was able to Flashgot as soon as a youtube webpage opened, and it worked.
This time, I opened a startrek youtube page, and hit Flashgot, and got a 0 KB file. Waited, refreshed the Windows Explorer window, nada.
So I waited for the entire episode to finish running, and for the downloading to complete.
They don't make it easy. What I observed was that Gooogle stops the file from downloading (at about the half-way point) if you pause at the start of the episode. The red line doesn't finish downloading unless you watch the episode from beginning to end. You lose all of the cached file if you move the Play Point around, which is a painful lesson when you lose 40 minutes of cache. Mind you, I'm trying everything to get this file to Flashgot, so I'm just doing what I can.
So the episode finished playing, the youtoob page is still open, the red line is still filled to the end, I hit Tools > Flashgot Media (1), the .flv shows up in my selected folder, and 25 minutes later, including Refreshing the folder, it still says the file is 0 KB. My bit counter concurs.
My hypothesis is that Flashgot is not working, and I blame gooogle. (I.e., it's ok for them to copy volumes of copyrighted material as their own product, but they'll go along with Hollywood to stop us from downloading a copy of Start Trek for our own amusement.)
But I digress.
Is there anything I forgot to try? WinXP, 2 cores, 4 GB ram, connection speed sees 30 Mbit/sec peaks and 1 Mbit/sec generally on youtube, Firefox 3.6.whatever, latest version of Flashgot (a few days old).
Thanks,

I have had issues at Youtube from time to time. (I rarely download from there.)
This seems to be one of those times (using Net Transport).
Though switching to (Browser Built In) seems to be working just fine? (The Void has been filled.)

Hi Therube,
Thanks for trying it on your downloader. I guess it's just too bad.
Interesting articles on downloaders, brought to you by our friends at google:

* List of download managers
* Comparison of download managers
Being unable to download videos would really bug me if the world weren't going to come to an end pretty soon, anyway.
I hope that wasn't you on the motorcycle.
Best luck,
