Revoking Temporary persmission on Navigate

Post by FamilyDog »

Hi,

Thanks again for a great program, and yes, I have donated and very happy to have done so. I urge everyone who uses NoScript who has not donated to spring for a few bucks. This is awesome browser protection.

OK, to the question. Is it possible to have NoScript automatically revoke Temporary permissions when I navigate away from a site?

With Yahoo Mail I need to allow "yimg.com" in order to see my email contents. I currently have yimg.com set at "ask" as I do not want yimg.com active on every site I visit as the images are usually not important to what I want to see and it just wastes time loading them.

What I would like is to set yimg.com as temporary-allow on Yahoo Mail, but as soon as I navigate away, it revokes that temporary permission.

Is this possible? If not could it please be considered in an update?

Thank you for your suggestion.

You probably want to check ABE and this FAQ.
Your use case should be covered by

Code: Select all

Site .yimg.com
Accept from .yahoo.com
Deny
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13

Hi Giorgio,

Thanks for the reply. I edited the USER.ABE with this...

# User-defined rules. Feel free to experiment here.
Site .yimg.com
Accept from .yahoo.com
Deny

And I get an error of...

line 2:5 no viable alternative at character '.'

I have read the ABE docs and the FAQ you included in the reply, but not sure what to do to fix the problem.

Is "line 2:5" the second line in the file ( Site .yimg.com ) or is it the second line in the command text ( Accept from .yahoo.com ) and ignoring the rem-line ( # User... ) in the count as position 5 in the second line is a blank space and not a Period '.'

OK, I got it working by adding "*" in front of the two Periods.

BUT, how can I make it so that when I return to my Yahoo Email account, I have to again grant the yimg.com privilege?

Often I will just check in to see if there are any emails and I like to skip the dumb-images on the Yahoo login page. I do not need to activate yimg.com if there are no new emails to look at.

Basically, when I navigate away I want all Temporary privileges revoked.

Thanks
