Flash "textual" boxes do not display their text

Post by therube »

I believe, though not sure, that NoScript has caused this bug to manifest itself again.

Bug 599223 - Flash "textual" boxes do not display their text
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=599223

In -safe-mode all works as expected.
Add NoScript, & the texts disappear, though they are there (in that you can "select" & copy them - which may be different from before <in the bug> where you could not even do that).

Perhaps this is the same issue you mentioned here, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=548102#c50?

NoScript 2.0.6rc3
Latest (SeaMonkey) build at at the moment, Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101121 Firefox/4.0b8pre SeaMonkey/2.1b2pre.

EDIT: tinypic.com must be Allowed (otherwise Flash is not used to display the text boxes).

Regression 20101110 to 20101111 - when NoScript is installed & tinypic.com is Allowed (NoScript 2.0.6rc3).

http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=3cd4bdbfce3b&tochange=7e3e4c91c0f7

Also happens to be the same regression range as:

Bug 611539 - [OOPP]Black rectangle appears behind Flash Object on punypng.com
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=611539

Note that an earlier NoScript build may affect results, ranges.

An while we're here, look what I wrote in this bug: "Having NoScript installed masked the issue - up through 2010-11-10."

Bug 580159 - Flash Buttons Cannot Be "Clicked"
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=580159

(So in some cases having NoScript masked an issue, & in other cases NoScript looks to cause an issue - well in conjunction with the ever changing Trunk, that is.)

Just a bump. I'm still seeing this issue.

Not a NoScript issue.

Safe Mode must disable OOPP (dom.ipc.plugins.*)?
Tinypic works in -safe-mode.
To be expected.

Add NoScript (which means you're starting normally, not in -safe-mode) & tinypic breaks.

Disable NoScript & restart normally, & tinypic is still broken, so it is not a NoScript issue.

Right?
