Add-on bar icon missing with 2.0.9rc1

Post by adam777 »

Hello all,
I've installed latest development build (2.0.9rc1) on NoScript and it messed up my add-on bar on FF 4.0 beta 7.
First, it seems to push all the icons all the way to the left (which was solved by removing the flexible spaces that were apparently added to the add-on bar), but more annoying is the fact that I can not seem to restore the add-on bar icon I use all the time, no matter what I do.
I suppose it has something to do with "+ Check for UI accessibility of Firefox 4 with hidden addons-bar and automatic installation of toolbar button on fail", as I indeed able to insert some toolbar button, but it's much less convenient for me comparing to the add-on bar icon.
Any ideas on how to restore the missing icon?
Thanks, Adam.

This is because it's adjusted on latest Minefield builds (and therefore next betas), whose addon bar is aligned on the left by default: the flexible space should be there by default in those builds, and if not found is added by NoScript in order to push its toolbar button on the right where users expect to find it.

That's because NoScript is preparing itself for for when the old, deprecated and unmoveable status bar icons will be forcibly removed.

It's exactly the same, functionally on B7 and even aesthetically in latest trunk (and B8), since toolbar icons loose their button styling when put in addon bar.
Actually it's even more convenient, since you can move it wherever you want.

Just put the toolbar icon in the addon bar, it will behave identically (I added code to automatically adjust the menu direction depending on where it's opened).

Thank you very much, Giorgio, you've answered everything I needed to know (and then some :) ).
For some reason, I only saw the "temporarily allow all this page" and "revoke temporary permissions" buttons...
Thanks again for all your efforts, Adam.

Giorgio could you add the option so that if you left click on the button itself the context menu like it did before the switch? I find it easier to click on the image than on the dropmarker, the area is slightly too small to hit when moving the mouse quickly over it.

Did you disable the "open on hover" option?
If you didn't, you shouldn't get any drop marker and the menu should open as soon as you fly over the icon.
However if you disable NoScript Options|General|Left clicking on NoScript toolbar button toggle permissions, the whole button should become a menu trigger.
