I just wanted to give an opinion.
You have made the single most irritating thing since UAC asked me yesterday for probably at least the 5000th time if I really want to open, and if I trust, programs I've opened hundreds of times before. UAC has turned my computer into an automatic nagging machine.
NoScript just gives me a stomach ache. I am very tired of telling it that each minute feature of each individual page I might happen to open in, let's say, Amazon or MSNBC is something I really want to do. I'm told that the Internet is safer with NoScript enabled, but it is boatloads less fun.
Guys, I have opened the Options, and I don't understand one bit of it! I get the feeling that this software was written by and for techies, and not much thought has been given to non-techies, who are the vast majority of the user public.
All I want is clickjacking protection that doesn't prevent my doing what I went to the page to do! I need my security protection invisible, or at least unobtrusive.
I'm just a Ms Jane Q User-Public, but those of us who still need the "For Dummies" books, and who might want to go look at new shoes or buy an iPod or something just need you guys to build us something simple!
Thanks for listening.

If this is all you believe you need, just hover the NoScript icon and select "Allow scripts globally".lmkm wrote:All I want is clickjacking protection that doesn't prevent my doing what I went to the page to do!
While most of the protection NoScript can give you against browser exploits is gone, Clickjacking protection (as well as XSS and CSRF protection) will be kept in place.

Browser security is a complex matter. I suggest that you familiarize yourself with http://noscript.net/features and http://noscript.net/faq - these sites clarify a lot. And if you still have questions, come back and everyone here is pleased to help you.lmkm wrote: Guys, I have opened the Options, and I don't understand one bit of it! First of all we have a guide written by a non-techie for non-techies and its located on the top each forum: http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=268 might be a place to start. Plus security is not intended to be fun and taking proactive steps required some involvement. For example, having sex without a condom is far more fun and stopping to put it on is a pain, but you have to decide, you want to have fun, or avoid STDs? Your call, you can do whatever makes you happy, including not running NoScript and taking your chances or doing as Giorgio said and allowing all on the page or even more by allowing things you run from bookmark, but anything goes wrong, you can't blame the security software, only that you chose to make it less effective.

I doubt the OP is here any more, as the thread is almost a year old, but if you are:lmkm wrote:Guys, I have opened the Options, and I don't understand one bit of it! I guess I'm the "non-techie" referred to by my good friend GµårÐïåñ, since I wrote (with approval of Admin and other mods) the NoScript Quick Start Guide he referred to.

Please note that if there is anything that you don't understand, such as the Options, and can't/won't find it in the NoScript FAQ, just post your questions here.
I hope anyone in this position will do the same before forfeiting NoScript's invaluable protection.

Yes, I meant you
and there was a newer post to which I responded, I wonder where it went. I guess it was a troll or bad post and was removed. Oh well. You are right, if anyone doesn't get something, just ask damn it, throwing the baby out with the bath water is just asinine.
