many downloaders support ed2k and magnet links but flashgot simply ignores them. and plain left-click would make batch importing a real-painful process (thank god there are always alternatives)
is there any plan to add support for them or better yet option to choose specific download manager for each protocol?
many thanks

Which, among the supported DMs, support ed2k links?

Net Transport, though I've never used it for that purpose or for BitTorrent.
(Don't know that I've ever downloaded via ed2k.)

Sorry about the delay.Giorgio Maone wrote:Which, among the supported DMs, support ed2k links?
Thunder supports both ed2k and magnet uri. One of my download manager (not supported though) can also support ed2k.
Can you made it so that ed2k/uri could be forced on regardless of what DM is used?

The problem is that some DMs may crash if fed with unrecognized URLs (it used to happen with FlashGet, for instance).racca wrote:Can you made it so that ed2k/uri could be forced on regardless of what DM is used?

Re: ed2k and magnet uri support?
That why it's called "forced". You don't turn it on by default. You only use it when you are sure or you want to try some possible fix.Giorgio Maone wrote: The problem is that some DMs may crash if fed with unrecognized URLs (it used to happen with FlashGet, for instance).
It's not like you can't turn if back off if it didn't work.
FlashGet/Thunder/NetTransport etc do support ed2k links, some already support uri, some have plans to. Why not give us an option
to force it on and see how it goes if you don't have the time to try every DM.
Many thanks for your amazing work.

Re: ed2k and magnet uri support?
Thanks a lot.
Tried a couple of days, it went well on both supported and unsupported DMs that I have.
BTW, where does FlashGot check the installed DMs? I had FlashGet removed yet it's still in the list.

Re: ed2k and magnet uri support?
It depends on the download manager. In FlashGet cases, as for most other Windows download managers, it checks for the existence of the COM MSIE->DM bridge component.racca wrote:BTW, where does FlashGot check the installed DMs?
This likely means either that you disabled download manager auto-detection in FlashGot Options|Advanced, or that the aforementioned component has not be correctly uninstalled.racca wrote:I had FlashGet removed yet it's still in the list.
